Submission requirements

Manuscript Format: Please download and follow the Checklist for Contributors PDF file in preparing your manuscript for submission. Manuscripts not prepared per this style sheet will likely be returned to the author without review. Authors are strongly encouraged to use the templates available for regular manuscripts, taxonomic treatments and specimen citation lists, and Notes/Botanists’ Corner submissions.

Before Submitting:

  • Rhodora’s intended readership is professional botanists, educators, conservation biologists and serious amateurs.

  • Submission of a manuscript implies it is not being considered for publication elsewhere, either in whole or in part.

  • Prior to publication, authors will be required to sign a Transfer of Copyright Agreement.

  • It is the author’s responsibility to verify all information included in the manuscript.

  • The manuscript version submitted should have been read critically by all coauthors.

What to Submit:

  1. Manuscript in Word format. The text of the manuscript must be submitted as a single file (including tables, figure captions, and appendices) via email. Any figures and supplementary materials should be uploaded in separate files.
  2. Completed checklist for contributors.
  3. Notes regarding any special instructions, author contribution statement (if more than one author), and any conflict of interest.
  4. Names and email addresses of 3–4 possible objective reviewers and any opposed reviewers. Objective reviewers should not include members of your laboratory/department, recent coauthors (within one year), or people with whom the authors are actively collaborating on a research project or manuscript.

Questions:

  • For other questions, please refer to recent issues of the journal or contact the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Melanie Schori, by email at editor@rhodora.org.
